The SSI Extended Range program is designed for the use of trimix as a breathing gas to reduce nitrogen narcosis and increase diver safety. An air option is also available. You will learn the techniques and procedures for using trimix breathing gases and nitrox mixtures up to 100% oxygen for accelerated decompression.
This course provides divers with the necessary training to:
- Safely plan and conduct decompression dives, with a maximum cumulative decompression time of 25 minutes;
- Dive with a twin-set and a stage cylinder containing decompression gas with up to 100% oxygen;
- Dive to a maximum depth of 45 meters, with a buddy of equal or higher certification level.
Prerequisites:
- Deep Diving certification
- Enriched Air Nitrox 40 certification
- At least 50 logged dives
- Medical certificate
Course Structure:
- 5 theory sessions
- 1 confined water session
- 6 open water dives
- Theoretical and practical exam at the end of the course
The number of lessons and dives may vary depending on the student’s preparation.
