CERTIFICATIONS

The certification obtained at the end of the SSI Technical Extended Range course qualifies divers to dive up to 50 meters using air as the primary gas, or up to 60 meters using oxygen-nitrogen-helium mixtures (Trimix). The equipment configuration consists of a twin-set and 2 stage cylinders.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess one of the following certifications, or an equivalent issued by another recognized training agency: Extended Range, Technical Wreck Diving, Full Cave Diving
  • At least 70 logged dives, including a minimum of 20 dives deeper than 30 meters
  • Specialized medical certificate for scuba diving

DURATION

  • 18 hours of lessons
  • 1 confined water session
  • 6 open water dives

EQUIPMENT

  • Suitable thermal protection, preferably a drysuit (certification required). The use of wetsuits or semi-drysuits is discouraged;
  • Primary cylinders: twin-set with a minimum capacity of 10+10 liters (to be verified based on gas consumption calculations), dual-outlet manifold with isolator, and a suitable harness system;
  • 2 Stage cylinders with a suitable attachment system, equipped with a regulator, short-hose pressure gauge, and clear marking of the maximum operating depth;
  • Primary regulator with DIN connection;
  • Secondary regulator with DIN connection, hose length not less than 2 meters;
  • Sturdy buoyancy compensator (BC) with adequate lift capacity, equipped with robust D-rings, preferably with a stainless steel backplate;
  • Pressure gauge with hose connected to the first stage;
  • Spool with at least 25 meters of line;
  • Reel with at least 80 meters of line;
  • Surface marker buoy (SMB) (red color) with a lifting capacity of more than 20 kg;
  • Yellow surface marker buoy (recommended);
  • Light sources (if required): primary light with a recommended power of at least 20 watts; backup light;
  • Compass – Slate – Jonline;
  • Backup mask – Cutting tool (knife or shears);
  • Dive computer or depth-time gauge;
  • Notebook (wetnotes) and contingency tables.
